SENIOR FAQ
Everything you might be wondering about for your senior session
Do you include digital images?
Yes, your photos will be in an online gallery for digital download. You will have printing rights to them and can print wherever you'd like.
How much are your photography services?
A two hour senior session is $350, and a one hour session is $225.
How long does a typical photo session last?
Sessions are usually one to two hours in length. Mini sessions can be 10-30 minutes, depending on the type of session.
Can we choose the location for our photo shoot?
Absolutely! I believe that the location plays a significant role in capturing unique and personalized photographs. There are tons of great parks in and around Prior Lake that I use. If you are wanting a location farther away, no problem, I just charge a small travel fee.
How many photos will we receive?
A one hour senior session includes 25 photos, and a two hour session includes 45 photos. With either session you have the option to purchase more photos as well. All photos are sent digitally and you have printing rights to them.
What's the best time of day or photos?
How long does it take to receive the final edited photos?
I will send you a gallery of all of the photos from your session, unedited, within 3 weeks. You can view the proofs and then choose the ones you want. After that I will edit them and upload to your gallery.
What happens if the weather is unfavorable on the day of an outdoor shoot?
If the weather doesn't cooperate on the day of our shoot we will discuss dates for rescheduling. I want to ensure the best possible outcome for your photos, and I am flexible in rescheduling as needed.
How should we dress for our family session?
We don’t feel very confident in front of the camera, is that ok?
A two hour senior session is $350 (45 photos), and a one hour session is $225 (25 photos).
One and two hour sessions are my most typical sessions. If you're looking for a longer session, just send me a message and we can discuss.
My recommendation is if you want more than two outfits in the photos (the outfit you arrive in and one change) a two-hour session is best. Or if you would like to shoot at more than one location, choose a two-hour session.
A two hour session includes 45 photos, and a one hour senior session includes 25 photos. With either session you have the option to purchase more photos as well.

One to two hours before sunset is ideal. The lighting is the best and there is no harsh sun shinning in your eyes. If you're looking for a morning session the opposite is true, lighting is best between sunrise and about an hour after. If we need to shoot a mid-day session, we will be shooting in the shade, not in full sun.
On add info
Absolutely! I believe that the location plays a significant role in capturing unique and personalized photographs. If you have a particular spot you want to take the photos at, just let me know! (Some spots may require a small travel fee depending on distance.)
I also know many great spots around the south metro. So if you need help deciding on a spot, just let me know what type of background you prefer and I can help you choose the best spot. Do you want a giant open field, or would you prefer a lake or stream that you can sit/stand in? Would you like to be on a bridge or dock, or are you looking for more urban with lots of stairs and buildings?
Yes. You are welcome to change your outfit multiple times within your allotted session time. I try not to limit the amount of changes, but just know if you are trying to do three outfit changes in a one hour session, that will eat up a decent amount of the session time.
The age-old outfit question. The simple answer is wear clothing to the photo session that is comfortable and allows you to move. Consider the location where you'll be shooting, and dress in an outfit that you'd wear to that location if you were just visiting.
DO
- Prepare an outfit or two... or three. At least two looks is best.
- Looks can be both casual or dressy, but they should reflect your personality.
- Wear colors that work with your skin tones. Lighter skin colors usually photograph better in darker shades, since the lighter color will wash you out. While darker skin colors photograph better in brighter colors.
- Match colors appropriately.
- Consider wearing neutrals and build off of them.
- Dress with your whole body in mind. Think about hats, shoes, and accessories.
DON'T
- Neon clothing. Just don't! It doesn't photograph well in most settings.
- It's best not to wear athletic apparel with large logos, or any item of clothing with a large logo or graphic. Simple is best.
- Patterns with small stripes or checks don't photograph very well.
Lint Roller (for stray hairs, especially if you have pets or are wearing dark colors)

Props (jerseys, sports equipment, instruments)

This one I feel is totally up to you. I photograph lots of senior girls that do it all themselves, teenagers sure are good at it now! If you are looking for someone to do either hair or makeup highly recommend Allison, who has a salon is in Burnsville. You can contact her here.
